FDA-approved GHRH analog (Egrifta) to reduce excess abdominal fat in adults with HIV-associated lipodystrophy
Tesamorelin is FDA-approved as Egrifta to reduce excess abdominal fat in HIV-infected adults with lipodystrophy. It is not indicated for weight loss, long-term cardiovascular safety is not established, and there is no evidence it improves antiretroviral adherence. Use for body composition or longevity in people without that diagnosis is off-label.
